Community Voices is a documentary-style video series featuring seven New Mexico organizations.
Working as the Outreach Manager, much of my time was spent working with community partners to develop programs, manage outgoing sponsorships, and develop special events like fundraisers and collaborations with artists. Having intimate knowledge of the many community organizations and their work made me realize that their stories deserved to be shared and put in the spotlight.
In collaboration with a talented team of documentary filmmakers, community voices was created. The teams of people working on the project invested over 5,000 hours of time connecting, filming, and building community. As a direct result of the videos, in 2019, we collectively helped raise over $250,000 in funding from new sources to support their work. Meow Wolf also provided over $133,000 of in-kind donations for the videography and post production work to help feature the organizations. One video was also responsible for a top 10 CNN hero award finalist.
In addition to the short videos, I had the opportunity to be the co-creative director and host of a live-streaming series titled Community Voices: LIVE. The talkshow-style program featured leaders from the organizations in the community voices video series. Guests would share details about themselves, their work, and how viewers could get involved.
